researchIT CT offers free online resources as a service of the CT State Library.  Here you will find journal, magazine, and newspaper articles for Connecticut public, K-12, and academic libraries and their users. There is also a collection of downloadable eAudios and eBooks for Connecticut residents with valid CT public library card numbers.

MORRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY ADDS FILM STREAMING SERVICE, KANOPY

With Kanopy, Morris Public Library Patrons Will Have Access to more than 30,000 Films, For FREE

The popular on-demand film streaming service Kanopy is now available for free at the Morris Public Library. Library card holders can access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films on instantly by visiting https://morrispubliclibrary.kanopy.com

Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku.

Offering what the New York Times calls “a garden of cinematic delights,” Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema with collections from Kino Lorber, Music Box Films, Samuel Goldwyn, The Orchard, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers.

Featuring a subdivision Kanopy Kids, the service gives access to a collection of high quality children’s programs to help young viewers develop empathy, mindfulness and critical thinking.

Passes for reduced or free admission to the following institutions and parks are available to borrow at the Morris Public Library. Thank you to the MPL Friends Group for this service.

Beardsley Zoo

$9 admission rate per person, adult or child, limit up to 6 people in your own family each day. Patron must bring a Morris Library card and a photo ID in the same name.

The Children's Museum, Roaring Brook Nature Center

One free touring admission with each paid admission. Maximum of 4 free admissions per day, per card. Please note: Science Dome tickets are an additional fee.

CT Old State House

Admission free (up four visitors).

CT State Parks and Forests

Passport to Parks eliminates day-use parking fees for all those entering in Connecticut registered vehicles. The Library Pass to the State Parks is valid for at Dinosaur, Gillette Castle and Fort Trumbull State Parks.

Information and Guidelines

  • Binders with information about passes are on display in the reading area.
  • Passes must be requested and checked out at the circulation desk.
  • MPL cardholders are eligible to borrow Museum passes. Borrowers may register at time of borrowing passes.
  • Passes may be checked out for 3 days.
  • Passes must be returned to the circulation desk, not the book drop.
  • Passes may be reserved in advance. Passes may be picked up before Library closes, the day before the day of the reservation, if available.
  • Borrowers are responsible for full replacement fees (ranging from $75 - $150) if passes are lost or not returned
